Certification requirements for the Russian Federation
In order to export to Russia as well as to be able to distribute, sell, install and take into operation many of the exported goods have to comply with Russian national standards (GOST standards) as maintained by GOSSTANDART. For exporting, the main document needed is the GOST R Certificate of Conformity. This document allows exporters to ship their goods to Russia and pass customs procedures. This certificate can either be issued for one delivery or for a period of max. 3 years. For cases wher GOST R is not mandatory, either a voluntary GOST R can be issued or a Letter of Exemption Several other certifications may be required depending on product and their application, such as: - Hygienic Conclusion for food, cosmetics, clothes etc. - GOST EX Certificate of Conformity for ex-proof applications - RTN 'Permit to Use' for industrial safety - Metrology Certificate (Pattern Approval) for measuring instruments - Fire Safety Certificate Not complying with mandatory Russian regulations may have serious implications.
