The Russian American Chamber of Commerce in the USA (THE CHAMBER) is one of the main business organizations in the USA that assists U.S. companies in CIS market entry. THE CHAMBER provides market information, practical advice, leads, and referrals to U.S. members of all sizes to facilitate U.S. export, distribution channels, and other forms of business development in the CIS. THE CHAMBER also assists U.S. members in obtaining visas, legal advice, translations, certifications, exhibition information, office space, HR-services, and offers a cultural program in the CIS. THE CHAMBER facilitates cooperation for U.S. members with the Russian Government, Russian Regional Administrations, U.S. Consulates in Russia, Chambers of Commerce in Russia, and corporate leaders from CIS countries. 

Though the main focus of the Chamber is on trade between the U.S. and Russia, THE CHAMBER also covers Canada and 14 Eurasian countries : Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. 

The Chamber has facilitated more than $500 million worth of U.S. exports and U.S.-Eurasian business collaboration.

Why is the Chamber’s HQ Located in Atlanta?

The cosmopolitan city of Atlanta, Georgia represents the largest economic center of the Southern United States. With over 5 million residents and 120,000 companies, this region offers ideal conditions for both American and international companies.

The business environment of the region is characterized for its low residential and commercial real estate costs, educated workforce, economic incentives and Fortune 500 company headquarters. In addition to this, the Southern US enjoys an excellent transportation infrastructure comparable to the best highways that can be found in the world. Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is the busiest airport in the world and has the best flight connections that can be found in the USA. The Southeastern region also has two of the largest container ports in the US. One in Savannah, Georgia and the other in Charleston, South Carolina which are both located along the Atlantic Coast.

According to NYCEDC, New York City’s economy is unparalleled, rivaling most of the world’s nations with its sheer size and diversity. The New York metropolitan area’s gross metropolitan product was almost $1.3 trillion in 2008, exceeding the GDP of many nations.

New York City has one of the world's largest international business communities:
    * 168 banks from 50 countries have offices here
    * 50% of New York’s labor force is foreign-born
    * 18 of the top 20 foreign branches of international banks have their U.S. headquarters here

New York was among the top 3 venture capital states with $285 million in new venture capital investments spread across 41 deals, according to the quarterly venture capital activity report issued by ChubbyBrain Information Services for the fourth quarter of 2009. 

Not only is New York City a business capital, it is also home to some of the finest hospitals and scientific research centers in the world. Research centers and hospitals in New York receive a total of $1.3 billion in National Institutes of Health funding each year, second only to Boston-Cambridge, Massachusetts.

New York City is an attractive destination for international students. In 2009, New York University and Columbia University had the second and third largest international student populations in the country, totaling more than 13,000 students.
